Theorem’s latest Publish 3D release publishes CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE data to 3D PDF

We are pleased to announce the release of the latest CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE- 3D PDF product from the Publish 3D range of products. V19.3 supports CATIA V6R2013x, and 3DEXPERIENCE R2014x, R2015x and R2016x.

Our 3D PDF Publisher for CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE offers a 3D PDF publishing solution for CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE users, enabling them to share their engineering data created in CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE with departments who do not have CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE but need access to a 3D representation.

Since 3D PDF is 3D content in a standard PDF, it enables companies to create rich documents with 3D CAD data inside, which can be viewed, manipulated and marked up with Adobe’s free reader. What 3D does is remove ambiguity when reviewing product data.

V19.3 includes support for exporting CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE Product Manufacturing Information PMI (FTA, GD&T), allowing the user to facilitate Model Based Definition (MBD) processes containing the necessary information to manufacture and inspect products, without the need for 2D engineering drawings which are time consuming and costly to produce.

Using Publish 3D to create a 3D PDF controls and protects the Intellectual Property (IP) contained within the document. Passwords and document rights access can be added to the 3D PDF and different levels of control can be created for different users. This will ensure that the integrity of the information is maintained and that only the correct people can access the data, allowing companies to further protect their intellectual property (IP) when sharing the data throughout the extended enterprise.

V19.3 is an interactive solution that is integrated in the CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE menu system allowing the user to export the active assembly/part in PDF format using ‘Export’ PDF capability. The application can also be run in batch mode to create 3D PDF data through the CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE PLM Batch Interface.

Being lightweight, and an openly published ISO standard, 3D PDF is ideal for effective collaboration while maintaining the original 3D geometry and product information. As it is free to consume, it is accessible to everyone and works for internal sharing and for collaborating within the supply chain.

Our strategic partnership with Dassault Systemes ensures that there is parallel development between the latest releases of CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE and Theorems Publish 3D products, allowing us to continue to provide publishing solutions to the CAD community.

Theorem are joining forces with other members of the 3D PDF Consortium for DMC 2016

We are delighted to be partnering up with other member companies of the 3D PDF Consortium on booth #438 at 2016’s Defense Manufacturing Conference (DMC).

The event takes place on 11/28/2016- 12/01/2016 in Denver, Colorado, USA and brings together leaders from government, industry, and academia to exchange perspectives and information about critical Department of Defense (DoD) manufacturing technologies. The focus is on the production and sustainability of affordable defense systems.

Alongside the other 3D PDF Consortium members, we will be showcasing 3D PDF, the many features and benefits of 3D PDF and how it is revolutionising the way that CAD data can be shared within an organisation and up and down the wider supply chain.

Publishing to 3D PDF from native CAD and Visualization data supports the processing of Model Based Definition (MBD) information. 3D annotations, dimensions (PMI/FTA/GD&T), assembly structure, geometry, views, and attribute data (where available) are published to the 3D PDF document at the point of creation helping to streamline the design and manufacturing process into a paper free digital process.

3D PDF lets you share any interactive 3D model with anyone in the world without the requirement for CAD viewing software. 3D PDF solutions enable the creation of documents enriched with interactive 3D content directly from native CAD applications into the PDF format.

Jerry McFeeters, Executive Director of the 3D PDF Consortium, will present an overview of the 3DPDF Consortium and how it can be applied to defense manufacturing technologies.

This is the premier national forum for presenting and discussing initiatives aimed at addressing enhanced defense and related national manufacturing capabilities and requirements.
